Good question! Tattoo prices aren't a one-size-fits-all deal. It's all about three things: how big you want it, where you want it, and how detailed it's gonna be. We figure out the price by estimating how long it'll take to tattoo you. One hour in the chair? That's €175.We've got a minimum charge €100, which reflects the time spent on design, setup and ensuring a clean, safe experience. For smaller tattoos, we'll give you a price based on all the things mentioned above, but with keeping that minimum price in mind.
Alright, so, we are known for our Japanese-inspired work, but we've got a crew that can handle a bunch of styles. Think bright American Traditional, solid Black & Grey Realism, Neo Traditional, that sort of thing. Basically, we do a bit of everything, and we make sure it's good.If you're after something we don't really do, we'll tell you straight up. We'll give you the lowdown and maybe point you towards someone who's a better fit. We're all about getting you the tattoo you want, even if it means sending you elsewhere.
The size of the waiting list depends on the artist. Some artists are booked quite a few months in advance. However, we always have artists available that can be booked on a shorter notice.
Yeah, we get some seriously talented folks dropping by. We've had legends like Ichibay, Henry Lewis, and Chris Conn pass through. If you wanna know who's coming next, just hit this link. We'll keep you in the loop.
We've been to the New York City Tattoo Arts Convention, London Tattoo Convention, Kaiserstadt Tattoo Convention, Convention Tatouage de Vannes, and recently, True Blue Tattoo Convention. So, we're not strangers to the convention scene.Upcoming Conventions:
Nah, we stick to tattoos. But if you're looking to get pierced, we can't recommend Kanpatha enough. They're the real deal.
For the bigger pieces, we're gonna want to chat first. A tattoo design is not just slapping a design on skin. It has to flow with your body, move right. That means some real planning and drawing goes into it, before we start tattooing. We need to see what we're working with, get your ideas on the design, and figure out the best way to make it happen. Sometimes, we might even do a rough sketch right on your skin, just to see how it sits. Then, we get a print of that and use it as a starting point. This way, we know it's gonna be custom-fitted for you. Basically, consultations are how we make sure you walk out with a tattoo that's perfect, both how it sits on your body, and how you had it in mind.
Okay, so, after you get tattooed, you're gonna wanna take care of that bad boy. We're big fans of either Bepanthen or this stuff called Tiger Spit Balm. Both are solid choices. For the full rundown on how to keep your tattoo happy, just click right here. It's got all the details you need.
Right, so, here's the lowdown: get some decent sleep the night before. Eat something healthy, drink enough water, and definitely don't go crazy partying the night before. Trust us on that one.Shower up, bring some sugary snacks and make sure your phone's got enough battery. You know, for music or to contact your friends!

To keep things chill for everyone, we're asking you to not bring anyone with you to your appointment.
1. Define Your Design: You don't need a final, detailed drawing, but you do need a solid concept. What style are you looking for (e.g., traditional, fine-line, realism)? What is the meaning behind it, or do you just love the aesthetic? Collect reference images and think about how they will look on your skin.2. Choose your placement wisely: Location matters. Some areas (like the ribs, feet, or clavicle) are significantly more painful than others (like the outer upper arm or thigh). Think about visibility and how the tattoo will flow with your body.3. Find the right artist: This is the most crucial step. Look at portfolios, specifically checking that their style matches what you want. Read reviews and look for clean, professional studio photos. Schedule a consultation to discuss your ideas, placement, and pricing.
1. Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water in the 48 hours leading up to your appointment. Healthy skin takes ink much better.2. Avoid alcohol and blood thinners: Do not consume alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment. Alcohol thins your blood, which can cause excessive bleeding and affect the ink saturation. Also avoid aspirin or ibuprofen.3. Eat a substantial meal: Do not go to your appointment on an empty stomach. A good meal ensures your blood sugar is stable, reducing the risk of fainting or feeling lightheaded.4. Plan your attire: Wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing that provides easy, clean access to the tattoo placement area.
1. Trust your artist: They are the professionals. Listen to their advice on placement and design. A slightly different angle or size might be necessary to make the tattoo look its best long-term.2. Be honest about pain: The first sensation is often compared to a hot scratch. It is rarely unmanageable, but the intensity can build over long sessions. If you need a break, ask. It’s better to pause than to risk moving and causing a mistake.3. Stay relaxed and steady: It may sound simple, but tensing up actually makes the pain worse. Try to take deep, calm breaths and avoid unnecessary movement.
1. Leave the wrap on: Your artist will apply a protective barrier (like plastic wrap or a sterile bandage). Keep it on exactly as long as they instruct, usually between 1 and 24 hours.2. Wash gently: When you remove the wrap, wash the area gently with warm, not hot, water and a mild, fragrance-free, antibacterial soap. Do not scrub; use your hand, not a washcloth.3. Pat dry and let it breathe: Gently pat (do not rub) the area dry with a clean paper towel. Let it air dry for 10-15 minutes before applying a very thin layer of the ointment recommended by your artist. Do not cover it up again.
1. Expect scabbing and peeling: After a few days, your tattoo will start to peel and scab. This is a normal part of the process and looks similar to a sunburn.2. Do NOT pick or scratch: Picking at scabs is the #1 way to ruin a new tattoo. It pulls the ink out before it has a chance to heal, leaving gaps. If it is intensely itchy, a very light tap or a cold compress may help.3. Avoid sun and submerged water: Until it is fully healed (4-6 weeks), stay out of direct sunlight and avoid pools, hot tubs, baths, or natural bodies of water. UV rays are the main cause of tattoo fading.4. Moisturize regularly: Switch from the healing ointment to a fragrance-free, gentle lotion. Keep the tattoo lightly moisturized to prevent excessive dryness, which can lead to bad scabbing.
Always choose an artist based on their specific stylistic mastery rather than general proximity or shop fame. Look closely at their healed portfolio pieces to ensure their linework consistency, contrast, and shading style match your long-term aesthetic goals. At our studio, we eliminate the guesswork by matching your specific concept with the resident or international guest artist best suited for that exact style during our initial consultation process.
While our resident and guest team specialize in elite, large-scale custom illustrative tattooing tailored to you specifically, we also run a dedicated flash ecosystem. Every single Friday, our artists drop original, pre-drawn flash collections. You can claim these designs in real time via our dedicated Instagram channel @the_flash_vault or browse the archive directly on our website at thebluebloodstudios.nl/flash-vault. If you have an entirely custom concept, you can submit your reference notes and we will build a one-of-a-kind piece from scratch.
Booking is handled entirely through our centralized digital booking portal. Select your preferred resident or visiting guest artist, describe your design concept in detail, and include your desired size and physical placement. From there, our studio management team will coordinate your technical consultation, deposit processing, and session dates. You can find the booking form on our home page or on each of the artists individual pages.
For sure! For large-scale compositions, intricate custom concepts, or complex placement layouts, a dedicated consultation is a standard part of our process. This allows you to sit down directly with your artist, review reference materials, map out the anatomy of the area, and align on the creative direction before any skin is touched or session dates are locked in.
Booking timelines vary significantly by artist. Our resident team typically books out several weeks to months in advance for large custom projects, while our international guest artists operate on highly limited, fast-filling schedules during their short-term residencies. However, we do always have an artist available for walk ins or last minute ideas. We recommend submitting your concept through our booking system as early as possible to secure your preferred dates, or contact us through WhatsApp for walk in inquiries and last minute bookings.
