Taco Joe - Traditional Japanese Tattoos - The Blue Blood Studios

Heavy Illustrative & Traditional Tattoo Specialist
Taco Joe’s career began in 2007 in Borneo under the formal mentorship of Jim Losaria, later leading him to establish his own studio, Wayang Kulit Tatu, in Kuala Lumpur in 2016. His distinct portfolio blends the raw, graphic edge of 90s skateboard culture with deep illustrative elements drawing from his Borneo heritage. As a resident artist at The Blue Blood Studios, Joe focuses entirely on bold, high-contrast custom work, delivering non-traditional layouts built for high-impact visual longevity.
Joe's specialized technique balances heavy, saturated color with powerful compositions that map fluidly onto the anatomy of the body. His work prioritizes highly individualized illustrative art built specifically for long-term readability.
Specialties: Large-scale illustrative compositions, heavy color saturation, and custom heritage-inspired traditional layouts.
Consultation Philosophy: Direct, honest guidance regarding scale, heavy linework aging, and pigment density to guarantee the finished artwork retains its stark definition over time.
