• Traditional Japanese Irezumi: Full bodysuits, backpieces, and sleeves (Nagasode) built according to traditional rules, seasonal imagery, and heavy background framing.

• Neo-Traditional: Illustrative designs that combine rich color, soft shading, and bold outlines. Neo-Traditional compositions excel on large backpieces, giving intricate focal elements and natural flow plenty of room to stretch.

• Black & Grey Realism Sleeves: Detailed, multi-session work using smooth gradients, dark shadow values, and realistic textures mapped across full arms or legs.

• Illustrative & Blackwork: Bold, large-scale compositions combining expansive areas of solid black saturation with sharp, clean linework and detailed dotwork.

​Process & Execution​

 

The long-term clarity of a full sleeve or backpiece comes down to proper step-by-step planning. We break your project into three main stages:

• Step 1: The Design Consultation. We sit down with you to discuss your ideas, look at reference art, and take precise measurements of the area to create a custom layout tailored to your proportions.

• Step 2: Linework & Background. The first sessions focus on pulling the main outlines and establishing the background shapes. This creates the primary frame for the entire piece.

• Step 3: Shading & Color. Follow-up sessions are dedicated to packing solid blacks, smooth grey tones, and rich colors layer by layer, giving your skin time to recover between sittings.

Studio Environment and Healing

Sitting for long, multi-session projects takes focus and a comfortable environment. We run a clean, professional space built for long sittings:

 

• Strict GGD Hygiene: Every session follows Dutch health authority protocols, using single-use, sterile equipment.

• Smart Session Pacing: We schedule sittings with proper healing breaks in between, giving your skin time to recover fully before we start the next layer.
